Welcome to the Wilmington Middle School's ACE Program. Thank you for your interest. We will be offering quality clubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays during 3 sessions: Fall, Winter & Spring.

Winter session will be held between January 7- March 19, 2020. Registration will be open from Monday, December 9 through Thursday, December 19, 2019. Payment is due at time of registration. You may chose only 1 club per day. Enrollment is limited.

  • Cost: $60.00 per club.
  • Clubs times: 1:45-3:15 - each club will run 1 day per week.
  • Registration is available through CommunityPass only.

Transportation: We are happy to offer buses for transportation after our ACE Program. Please note that you are provided with a list of bus-stops to select from. Your child will NOT be dropped off at your home. You MUST indicate either Bus #1 or Bus #2. (bus routes are posted on the right side of this webpage)

The buses will depart promptly at 3:30. Students are expected to make sure they board the bus no later than 3:25. We will not wait for students. Bus drop-off will be between 3:30 and 4:30.

*ONLY students enrolled in the ACE Program on a given day, and have requested bus transportation on the registration form, will be allowed to use the Late Bus service. No exceptions.

Spring Clubs:

Tuesday clubs:

  1. The Minecraft Collaborative #1 - instructor K. Monteforte Learn tricks and secrets for successful life in The Minecraft Collaborative's survival world. We will be planning and creating a cooperative community with housing, common areas, trading posts, farms, a port and anything else that we want!
  2. Now You Can Sew! What's Next? (intermediate level) - instructor A. Bush. Do you already know how to sew? Do you want more practice sewing by machine? Join this club to continue improving sewing skills and developing your sewing independence. NOTE: If you have a sewing machine that you want to learn how to use, or other tools, feel free to bring them in at the beginning of the course.
  3. The 40% Club - instructor L. Federici The intent of the 40% (Happiness) Club is to help combat feelings of anxiety, depression, isolation, and worthlessness. The 40% Club will work to actively cultivate happiness, in ourselves and others, through three major tenets of Charity, Gratitude, and Fun! We will participate in happiness lessons and plan events for the WMS community.
  4. Mindfulness & Yoga - instructor J.McGonagle. Heard about mindfulness and yoga and wondering what all the fuss is about? Join us and learn how to practice mindfulness to help you focus and calm down, as well as start and end your day in a positive way. We will also practice some yoga moves to help improve flexibility and strength. Participants should dress in comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat, if possible.
  5. Create Some Sparkle - instructor D. Consorti. We will be learning how to make beautiful jewelry, such as bracelets and earrings, with different materials.

Thursday Clubs:

  1. The Minecraft Collaborative #2- instructor K. Monteforte Learn tricks and secrets for successful life in The Minecraft Collaborative's survival world.   2. Ukulele Club (learn to play) - instructor J. Perkins In this club, we will explore some basic ukulele playing skills. We will learn to play some basic chords, learn to read TAB charts for the ukulele, and explore PIMA fingerpicking techniques to give your ukulele playing some pizzazz. We can also learn how to write our own songs! NOTE: You must have your own ukulele. No prior experience necessary!
  3. Sew You Think You Can Sew?(beginners) - instructor A. Bush Are you crafty? Do you want to learn how to sew? This club is for you! We will learn all the basics of sewing by hand and with a machine. We will learn how to iron, to mark and cut fabric, to use a sewing machine safely, and to follow a pattern to complete projects. We will complete a number of projects - hand sewn, machine stitched, and even fusible no-sew projects.
