Schedule changes:  Must be submitted in writing and emailed to the CARES Office at least two weeks prior to tuition being posted on the 1st of the month, there are no refunds once billed.
Registration fee and all monthly tuitions are NON-REFUNDABLE AND THERE WILL BE NO CREDITS APPLIED.

If your child will be absent or your child has change in their afternoon schedule and will not be attending on a particular day, please let your Site Coordinator know as soon as possible by calling or texting their CARES phone.  Please remember to notify your child’s teacher and the main office of any changes.  Your child’s safety is our first priority.  If staff are not notified of a change and the child does not show up in the afternoon there is a $25 finder’s fee that you will be responsible for.

If a child does not report to our program on a scheduled day, and we have not received direct notification from the parent of an absence, we will initiate our Missing Child Protocol.  If the classroom teacher and/or secretary have not been made aware of a change in the child’s after school schedule either, his/her parents will be immediately notified.

The Wilmington Public Schools C.A.R.E.S. (Children's Art, Recreation and Enrichment Services) program provides children with a fun and enriching out-of-school experience. We focus on creating an environment that supports the needs of each individual child. The program was expanded to each of our schools for the primary purpose of providing a safe environment for our youth during out-of-school time. This safe, caring environment offers activities, which are designed to promote an individual child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being and growth. The program comprises a range of activities, including outdoor play, arts and crafts, library time, cooking, movies, free play, computers, board games and puzzles. Children may also read a book, finish homework (grades 1-5), or simply enjoy quiet time under the supervision of our qualified staff. Learn more on our About Us page.
